The main novelty that characterized the launch of Huawei P30 Pro it is undoubtedly the photographic sector. As for its predecessor, Huawei has decided to raise the bar regarding zoom capability e night mode. The smartphone was awarded by DxOMark also for these two aspects: but how does it behave compared to reference models such as Samsung Galaxy S10 + e Google Pixel 3? To tell us is PhoneArena with a first photographic test to three just for what concerns the performances in the evening.
Here is a first photographic comparison between Huawei P30 Pro, Samsung Galaxy S10 + and Google Pixel 3
First of all, let's look at what is the hardware sector of the models examined:
- Huawei P30 Pro
- 40 + 20 + 8 mega-pixel - f/ 1.6-2.2-3.4 - 1 / 1.7 ″ with RYYB matrix - wide-angle and telephoto 5X with OIS - 16-125 mm - laser autofocus + PDAF + ToF
- Samsung Galaxy S10 +
- 12 + 16 + 12 mega-pixel - f/ 1.5-2.4-2.4 - 1 / 2.55 ″ - wide-angle and telephoto 2X with OIS - 12-52 mm - Dual PDAF autofocus
- Google Pixel 3
- 12 mega-pixel - f/ 1.8 - 1 / 2.55 ″ - OIS - 28 mm - Dual PDAF autofocus
That said, from the photos taken by the trio of smartphones in question, it is clear that the most incisive differences occur when the lights are really low. As long as there is some lighting, the Samsung Galaxy S10 + continues to beat it without major problems, which is not the case when it is almost in the dark. In that circumstance they are Google Pixel 3 but especially Huawei P30 Pro to behave better, with sharper and brighter images.
And regarding the photos taken with zoom? Google Pixel 3 was excluded from this test, given that the Big G flagship has no secondary sensors. In reverse, Samsung Galaxy S10 + enjoys the presence of a 2X optical zoom, while Huawei P30 Pro goes further with one 5X optical zoom.
In the first shot, the advantage of P30 Pro is evident, with a more convincing photo in terms of color rendering, lighting management and scene exposure. The moment you set one up zoom 5X the photo of Galaxy S10 + is less bright but seems sharper, thanks to the optical stabilization (still present also on P30 Pro). And that's when we move on to zoom 10X that the hardware advantage of Huawei becomes more evident, with a surprisingly defined image. But we invite you to see the original dimensions su Phone Arena to appreciate the differences even more.
