Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro: differences in the triple camera

huawei mate 20 vs huawei mate 20 pro differences triple camera

A few days separate us from the official presentation of the new ones Huawei Mate 20Huawei Mate 20 Pro, the two flagships of the end 2018. And after the success received by P20 Pro, especially in the photographic field, the wait is a lot. In this regard, today, after the incredible Antutu score (promptly beaten by iPhone XS), two nths appear on the net new renderings of both models, revealing some of them differences that there will be in the triple camera.

Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro will have different cameras: here they are in unofficial renderings

First of all, what you notice quite clearly is the difference of dimensions between the two models. The Huawei Mate 20 will have larger dimensions compared to Huawei Mate 20 Pro. Furthermore, as we already know, the rear ID sensor that we see on the back of the Mate 20 will be positioned below the display in the case of the Mate 20 Pro.

As suggested by Roland Quandt, a well-known leaker who posted these images on Twitter, it would seem that the variant BESS is without mini-jack, as already seen on Mate 10 Pro. However, it seems unlikely that there is more on the standard Mate 20: more likely that cut of the protective cover on the top right is the IR sensor.

Huawei Mate 20 Pro will have a more versatile camera

But let's talk now about the multimedia sector, in both cases represented by the new one triple camera on the back. The Leica brand remains, a company that for years has been helping Huawei to co-engineer its smartphones, but there is a visible difference already on the back cover.

Thanks to the presence of 3 sensors, on Huawei Mate 20 it is possible to have a system with focal opening f/ 1.8-2.4, less (on paper) than opening f/ 1.6-2.4 of the aforementioned P20 Pro. The focal length, instead, corresponds to 17-52 mm, then with one zoom 2x. According to the previous rumors, the sensors should be from 12 + 20 + 8 mega-pixel.

In the case of Huawei Mate 20 Pro the opening is the same, while the length a increases 16-80 mm. This means a big news, that is that on both we will have a wide-angle lens, since a standard sensor has a focal length usually from 27 mm. The difference, however, is that Mate 20 Pro will have a slightly more accentuated wide angle but above all a zoom 3x without loss of details. In this case the sensors should be from 40 + 20 + 8 mega-pixel.
