The Chinese manufacturer Vivo officially announced his rumored and chatted concept phone, Vivo APEX which brings the mobile technology industry into the future thanks to some special and intriguing hardware implementations.
It is good to clarify right away that the Vivo APEX it is a concept phone and, as such, it is not available for purchase and will not be available in the short term. Unlike what was done by Xiaomi with the first one Xiaomi Mi MIX, this concept phone was created by the company to show the state of development of some technologies that will come to life over the next few months and years.
What are the main innovations of the Vivo APEX?
The device is mainly characterized by a display OLED covering the 98% of the front surface with just frames 1.8 mm on three sides e 4.8 mm on the lower profile with total absence of sensors and cameras in sight. As already seen on the Vivo X20 Plus UD, also the Vivo APEX includes a fingerprint reader located under the display, but it is renewed and improved.
In fact, to unlock the device, it will no longer be necessary to position the finger exactly on a precise point, but the entire lower half of the display supports the recognition of the impression up to two different fingers. In fact, it is possible to set the display to be unlocked with a double fingerprint in order to improve security.
There is no system speaker as the reproduction of audio and calls is entrusted to a proprietary technology called Screen SoundCasting that, as already seen on the Xiaomi Mi MIX, generates the sound by exploiting the vibration of the display. The proximity and brightness sensor, moreover, are positioned below the body.
The front camera, on the other hand, is a unit from Retractable mega-pixel 8 which is "expelled" into 0.08 seconds once the camera application is activated and can be included inside the body once the use is finished.
Thanks to a careful optimization of the circuits, the Vivo APEX It includes a DAC dedicated and preserves, despite the current trends, the mini jack from 3.5 mm for headphones.
As said at the opening, the Vivo APEX is a concept phone that will not arrive in the short term on the Chinese and global market but whose innovative technologies could soon be implemented in the future devices of the Chinese producer Vivo.
