Last 5th December we flew to London for the presentation of the new ones Honor 7X e Honor View 10, two smartphones with format displays 18:9 characterized by an excellent quality / price ratio. Today we are here to talk to you about the model that has been compared to the Huawei Mate 10 Lite as regards its technical specifications. In fact, theHonor 7X it is a device that has a lot to offer on paper while keeping itself under the threshold of 300 €.
But concretely how did this smartphone behave? Let's not lose ourselves in further talk and let's find out in our review.
Honor 7X review
Unboxing
The sales package is in full style HonorIn fact, it is made of blue hardcover with white lettering. Inside the following equipment is present:

Construction and design
Il design dell 'Honor 7X It results to be very pleasant thanks to the presence of a front display in 18:9but as far as the back is concerned, we do not notice anything innovative seen similarity con l 'Honor 8 Pro. Overall, however, this device can be appreciated especially from the constructive point of view. Indeed, the smartphone returns an excellent feeling of solidity e resistance thanks to the meticulous assembly and to i premium materials. Just like the Mate 10 Lite, theHonor 7X it looks more expensive than it looks.
Posteriormente we find a back cover in aluminum frosted that holds a bit 'le fingerprints, which is interrupted only by plastic bands for the antennas that improve the overall aesthetics.
The smartphone is the size of 156.5 x 75.3 x 7.6 millimeters for a weight of 165 grams. As you can guess, therefore, one-handed use is not very simple. The fast operations we carry out quietly but, like all smartphones with form factor in 18:9, we will have to help each other with the other hand.
On the right side we find the Power button and the volume rocker, unlike the left one where there is only the Dual SIM / SIM + microSD slot. On the top profile we note alone the microphone useful for the reduction of ambient noise, while on the opposite side there is the mini-jack input from 3.5 mm, the Micro USB port, the main microphone and the system speaker.
The double camera flanked by the LED flash is on the rear. On the front, however, you can see the front camera, the headset, the sensor of brightness and proximity and the LED notification.
Display
L'Honor 7X is equipped with a display IPS da 5.93 inches diagonal with resolution Full HD + 2160 × 1080 pixels (therefore format 18:9), PPI 407 and type curvature 2.5D.
The feeling that returns the front panel is really impressivein fact, it will seem to us to be totally immersed in the smartphone. The percentage of screen-to-body ratio is the 77% and it also seems that the edges of the device have been slightly curved to further increase the glance.
However, i colors they seem to be slightly dull if compared to other smartphones, but you can always go and calibrate them to your liking in the appropriate menu in the settings. The viewing angles are quite good, but ad extreme angles you will notice how i Bianchi they tend slightly towards the Grey.
For the rest the definition è excellent and it is a pleasure to use theHonor 7X for gaming or for watching multimedia contents.
The feeling I had was the same as the Huawei Mate 10 Lite, both as regards the merits and the defects. In fact, in this sector they appear to be almost identical.
Hardware
To move theHonor 7X there is a chipset Kirin HiSilicon 659 including a CPU octa-core with a maximum clock frequency of 2.3 GHz, a GPU Mali-T830 MP2, 4 GB di RAM e 64 GB di internal memory, expandable through microSD to 256 GB.
The device runs quite well and I have not found any particular lag or jamming. App opening is fast, but not immediate as a top of the range.
Even the GPU behaves well, in fact, the execution of heavier titles, such as Asphalt 8, takes place without any kind of problem and without too obvious frame drops.

Also on this smartphone we find a double rear camera, which is characterized by a sensor from 16 mega-pixels, opening f / 2.2, autofocus PDAF e LED flash and another from 2 mega-pixels useful for making gods bokeh.
In situations of favorable brightness the shots are good as is the level of detail and the color balance. Thanks to the mode "Wide opening" it will be possible to take pictures with a good one bokeh and, moreover, it will be possible to manage opening and focusing even in post. Unfortunately the HDR mode does not seem to be very effective and you can hardly understand the difference with normal shots. When the sun begins to fall and the light is scarce, the digital noise increases inevitably. Fortunately the LED flash è very powerful and it helps us in the most critical situations.
Frontally we have a camera with sensor from 8 mega-pixels. Here we see the difference with the counterpart Huawei, which has a dual camera from 13 + 2 mega-pixel that manages to make it better in terms of definition e brightness. However, even i Selfie made with this Honor are good in conditions of favorable brightness, but in the dark or in low light they begin to drop decisively on the level of the definition.
It flies, i video they can be registered up to a maximum resolution of Full HD and, qualitatively, the same speech as before is valid.
Audio section
Lo lower speaker returns results rather similar to those of Mate 10 Lite. The audio output from the lower speaker is a bit dish and privileges the average frequencies. The listening experience definitely improves on headphones.
The audio in the ear capsule is clear and loud and even the speakerphone easily overcame the sufficiency.
Connectivity
L'Honor 7X supports connectivity LTE di Cat. 6, Wi-Fi b / g / n, Bluetooth 4.2, FM radio e GPS / A-GPS / GLONASS. Navigation is characterized by a reactive and precise signal fix.
Lo SIM slot may contain two nano SIM or a SIMs. and a microSD. However, only one will allow us to navigate in 4Gwhile the other will be in 2G. During our tests we did not find any major problems on the reception front. The only thing to do on the Wi-Fi, in fact, just like the Mate 10 Lite, here too we have only one modem Wi-Fi Single Band and not Dual!
For the rest there is a door micro USB rather than Type-C and a fast fingerprint reader e accurate. We can say that the release takes place 10 times on 10 successfully and without particular hitches.
Software
The software that moves the smartphone is the usual home Huawei e Honor, or we have Android 7.0 Nougat customized with the proprietary interface EMUI 5.1 and with security patches dating back to November 6, 2017.
We have already talked a lot about this software in previous reviews, but let's make a brief summary to talk about the salient features ofEmotion UI. We are faced with an interface very complete on the side of the customizations thanks to the wide choice of backgrounds e temi. The smartphone runs smoothly and you can find a specific option thanks to the search bar in the settings.
For the rest we have many functions of energy saving, the possibility of clone app like Facebook, Messenger e Whatsapp and calibrate the colors of the display to your liking.
Autonomy
Under the body of theHonor 7X there is a battery from 3340 mAh, which allows us to obtain a good autonomy with one medium di 5 hours di active screen. With use stress it is possible to arrive until 4h45while using more soft it will come to 5h30.
La full recharge it is not very fast and takes about approx 2 hours e 15 minutes.
Conclusions
In conclusion this Honor 7X differs from Huawei Mate 10 Lite only for theappearance, front camera and price. The latter is absolutely not an aspect to be underestimated because it makes it much more attractive compared to the counterpart of Huawei. Honor with its Honor 7X has decided to make accessible to everyone a smartphone with 18 display: 9, to which are added good performance and a well balanced autonomy, something uncommon within this category.
