Through your official account on the Asian social network Weibo, the software development team of Meizu announced that the new one Flyme 6 it will not only be available on the company's smartphones, but support will also be extended to rival brand devices. This move will allow users who would like to test the proprietary interface in question, but who do not own a Meizu terminal, to be able to test it.

Regarding the release date, the company has announced that everything will start from 9st May. In the meantime, he proceeded to release all the useful files to the developers through the known platform GitHub. It should be noted, however, that the system is still based on Android Marshmallow and not on the latest Android Nougat.

After Xiaomi and its MIUI, also Meizu seems therefore ready to expand its support to the Flyme 6 also to other third-party brands' smartphones. However, it is still unclear whether the company will release real ROMs to be installed on the terminals or whether this will be more or less entirely entrusted to independent developers. In the latter case, the optimization of the ROM and the possible introduction of the Meizu features will obviously depend on the goodness of the work done by them.

Among the innovations introduced by Flyme 6, in addition to the introduction on some terminals of Android 6.0.1 M, we see various additions and adjustments of functions already present on board. Here is a summary list:

  • Improved camera with new filters, time-lapse, search mode and gestures for the management of photographic parameters;
  • Multi-tasking can be called up with an upward or right / left swype;
  • Secret mode: the apps for which it is activated will not be displayed on the Multi-tasking screen;
  • Multiple Spaces: new profiles "Game Mode","Kid Space","private Mode","Guest mode"and "Flyme Classic", Each of them with their PIN and / or release with imprint;
  • New ways to save energy "More performance","Balanced Performance","Low Power Mode"and "Super Saving Mode";
  • New function "Smart Background" for better management of app notifications;
  • Customization of the quick toggles and the center of the notifications;
