Meizu MX6

Not present the earphones, which could however be contained in the final sales package for our market (there is no certain information on this).

Meizu MX6 - Design and construction quality

Il device is characterized by a unibody metal body, whose design is borrowed from PRO 6. In fact, the one is reproposed new antenna design on both the upper and lower profile, a lot elegance and able to make more willowy the device.

Meizu MX6

In terms of dimensions, the device is well optimized, with 153.6 x 75.2 x 7.25 mm for a weight of 155 grams.
The smartphone is very pleasant to hold in your hand thanks toexcellent weight balance, however contained for a device equipped with a screen from 5.5 inches of diagonal.

As now for all Meizu, the Power button and the volume rocker are positioned on the right profile, inserted in the same milling seen above PRO 6 ed M3 Notes.
On the left side, instead, we find the double Nano SIM slot which unfortunately does not allow you to expand the internal memory.

On the lower profile, practically inherited from the PRO 6, we find the connector USB Type-C, the single system speaker, the entrance mini jack and the main microphone. On the upper profile, however, there is only the second microphone for the suppression of environmental noise.

The rear body, finally, provides centrally in the upper part the camera equipped with the brand new sensor 12 mega-pixels combined with a dual LED flash dual tone.

Meizu MX6

In the front area Meizu MX6 presents at the top the ear capsule, the Notification LED White monochrome, the brightness / proximity sensors and the front camera from 5 mega-pixels.

At the bottom we find the reliable as comfortable key mBack which integrates a fingerprint reader (non-touch) with technology mTouch 2.1. The sensor results reactive, Quick e accurate in unlocking (up to 5 recordable fingerprints), as well as offering some features such as app blocking and Guest mode.

Meizu MX6 - Display

The device is characterized by a display IPS LCD  Sharp production from 5.5 inches diagonal with resolution Full HD 1920 x 1080 pixels, PPI 403, contrast of 1500: 1, maximum brightness of 500cd / m² and Corning protection Gorilla Glass 3.

Meizu MX6

Although compared to MX5, equipped with a display AMOLED, we opted for a display IPS LCD, quality it's definitely excellent.

- angles of visuals are very good and it is well balanced la color calibration. Furthermore, it is possible to intervene on the color temperature through the appropriate menu within the settings. Present the classic limits due to the display technology itself, therefore very good blacks, but not absolute like the AMOLED panels.

La brightness è good and personally I have not found any problems of readability even in conditions of strong solar intensity. The behavior of the sensor for adaptive brightness management is also very good.

Meizu MX6 - Hardware and performance

The hardware of this MX6 follows the path taken with the previous ones MX5 ed MX4. In fact, the device is moved by a SoC MediaTek MT6797 Helio X20, with a CPU deca-core with ARMv8-A architecture in 64 bit and 3 cluster format: 2 x 2.3 GHz Cortex-A72 + 4 x 2.0 GHz Cortex-A53 + 4 x 1.4 GHz Cortex-A53.
To this we find side by side 4 GB of RAM L dual channel from 933 MHz e 32 GB eMMC 5.1 type internal memory not expandable.

In fact, the chosen hardware solution is practically very similar to what we have seen on PRO 6, if it were not for the maximum clock area of CPU on board the device.

Meizu MX6

So let's talk about a hardware compartment first level definitely powerful; this guarantees a user experience free of lag or various stoppages in everyday use, but also in the most used situations.
The only effective flaw and the lack of a microSD slot capable of guaranteeing memory expansion.

In fact, part of the merit related to fluidity of the device must be attributed tooptimization of this hardware solution by the technical staff of the Chinese manufacturer.

The graphics sector is managed by the ARM GPU Mali-T880 MP4 from 850 MHz, which guarantees a good level of performance, but without reaching the top performance guaranteed byAdreno 530.
Absent in daily use symptoms of overheating, if not in particularly excited and prolonged phases of gaming that have put a strain on the GPU.

Meizu MX6 - AnTuTu Benchmark

Meizu MX6 - Cameras

Finally compared to the past it seems that the run-up of Meizu in favor of the mega-pixels for the camera's sensors has stopped. Indeed, on board the Meizu MX6 we find a brand new sensor developed in collaboration with Sony.

Let's talk about Sony IMX386 da 12 mega-pixels, which presents pixel da 1.25 um, lens a 6 items and focal aperture f / 2.0 with focus PDAF.

Meizu MX6

The interface, as already seen in other devices equipped with the Flyme 5, in addition to the various settings, he proposes various shooting modes, namely: Automatic, Manual, Video, Beauty, Panorama, Refocus, Slow-motion, Macro and Gif.

In diurnal situation le photo taken certainly result pleasant, present many details and a good color management true to reality. There focus It's fast, presenting greater acerbity in the night shots. Despite this, with further refinements of the software it will certainly be possible to improve the shots obtained.

The front camera has a sensor from 5 mega-pixels with focal opening f / 2.0. The shots are very good, as well as the color range and brightness.

Il LED flash of type dual tone is well calibrated and equipped with a good power able to illuminate the scene in an optimal way.

Meizu MX6 - Full HD Video Test

Videos can be recorded both in Full HD in that UHD (3840 x 2160 pixels), but the possibility of filming to 60 fps is absent.
Regarding the registration in mode UHD, as also happened for PRO 6, we point out that we encountered difficulties in exporting the video to YouTube per incompatibility of the codec. Furthermore, always during registration in UHD, several times the same has been interrupted by the device to avoid overheating (which however we have not noticed).

Therefore, in our opinion, there are still some acerbity, almost certainly caused by software not yet fully refined. Theassenza di optical stabilization.

Meizu MX6 - Connectivity

As previously mentioned, support is present dual Nano SIM stand-by 4G LTE Cat.6 and, as usual, it is absent the 20 band.

With reference, in fact, to connectivity compartment It has always been proven very good e reliable during these days of use. Quick hooking and changing cells, ensuring aexcellent connection in 3G / 4G that allowed us to enjoy multimedia contents without any problem whatsoever.

Stable and no connection problems Wi-Fi 802.11 a / b / g / n /ac Dual Band, Bluetooth 4.1 with LE and during satellite navigation via GPS / A-GPS / GLONASS.

Absent the FM radio and connectivity NFC.

Meizu MX6 - Software

The device is moved by the operating system Android 6.0 Marshmallow, customized, in the case of our sample, with the proprietary interface Flyme G, with the presence of the Google Play Store and  Italian language.

Despite we hold a pre-production sample, ROM it seems to be spinning impeccable: no problem whatsoever in the pushed multitasking that for the execution of heavier applications, in addition to navigation between the various menus.

Meizu MX6

Meizu MX6 - Autonomy

The device is characterized by an integrated non-removable battery 3060 mAh. In these days of use the Meizu MX6 he reached with a medium-intensive use almost 5 hours of active screen guaranteeing the coverage of an entire day of use without particular problems.

Meizu MX6

Present support for mCharge fast charge 3.0. This guarantees to recharge the battery from 0 a 50% in about 30 minutes, reaching the 70% in 45 minutes and the full charge in 75 minutes.

As seen for PRO 6, Also in Meizu MX6, both inside the phone and inside the supplied cable itself, there is a chip Texas Instruments for the tension control.

Meizu MX6 - Final considerations

There is nothing to say, Meizu MX6 he really convinced us in every aspect. Excellent work done by Meizu on the photographic sector that, we are sure, with further software updates has excellent margins for improvement, although already good.

Impeccable build quality of the device as the Chinese company has so far accustomed us. That this MX6 is perhaps not the current top of the range of Meizu? More than a doubt, we are convinced that this can almost be a certainty.

Il Meizu MX6 it will be available on the Italian store MeizuMart at a price not yet communicated.
