Very often the proposals of the Asian market in the smartphone field, while presenting valid technical data sheets, rely on home chipsets MediaTek.
However, some prominent companies often prefer to use the higher performing (albeit expensive) SoCs of Qualcomm: this is the case of the young woman LeEco (formerly LeTV), that with this LeEco Le Max 2 goes to directly challenge brands like Xiaomi, Samsung ed LG.

LeEco Le Max 2, the preview of GizChina.it
No doubt about it, this terminal presents itself in a very impactful way, with its generous 5.7 inches of display and one metal shell very well finished.
We are therefore talking about a phablet, given the dimensions of 156.8 x 77.6 x 7.9 mm and a weight (all in all contained) of 185 grams. In the back, the rear camera, a Sony IMX230 da 21 mega-pixels, equipped with autofocus PDAF and double LED flash dual tone, together with the fingerprint reader, with mirror effect, and the new company logo.
As for the perimeter frame, below we have the entrance USB Type-C and the two grids for the microphone and the mono speaker, while at the top we find the IR sensor to control domestic devices.
On the right side we see the on / off and volume adjustment keys, while on the right side there is the slot Dual SIM, which, however, does not allow the expansion of memory.
As you have surely noticed, there is no minijack entryIn fact, the entire new range of devices of LeEco is characterized by the absence of this input, replaced by 2 options, namely:
- Using a adapter (present in the package) through the USB Type-C input, however preventing multimedia listening if you want to put the device on charge;
- listening to multimedia files wireless, thanks also to the presence of the standard CDLA (Continous Digital Lossless Audio), which promises above average audio quality.
On the front we then have i 3 retro-illuminated capacitive keys, together with the front camera from 8 mega-pixels, the ear capsule and the brightness and proximity sensors.
The display, as we have said, is an LCD unit from 5.7 inches diagonal and with resolution Quad HD 2560 x 1440 pixels with a density of PPI 515.
But here we are at another strong point of this terminal: the hardware compartment.
In fact, the LeEco Le Max 2 is strong in the presence of the Qualcomm SoC Snapdragon 820, with a CPU quad-core to 64 bit Kryo from 2.15 GHz alongside a Qualcomm GPU Adreno 530, 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB internal memory of type UFS 2.0. It is also worth noting that one will soon be available soon higher variant, well 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of memory.
Continuing, connectivity is guaranteed by the support dual SIM 4G LTE Cat.12, plus Wi-Fi a / b / g / n / ac Dual Band, Bluetooth 4.2, IR sensor, GPS / A-GPS / GLONASS and BeiDou.
The operating system here is the most recent Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, accompanied by the proprietary interface of the company, or the EUI 5.6.014 Stable, which brings with it numerous graphic and functional changes, as well as some very well made apps, but unfortunately designed for an Asian audience.
Finally, the battery integrated here is a unit, not removable, from 3100 mAh, which supports the new Qualcomm charging standard Quick Charge 3.0, thanks also to the charger supplied by 3.6/8/12V 2/3A.
What to say, undoubtedly a device with great potential and which is expected to be a fierce enemy of direct competitors, especially Xiaomi Mi 5 e Meizu PRO 6.
