Good news for all SoC-equipped smartphone owners Helio X10, among which we remember Xiaomi Redmi Note 2, and Redmi Note 3, LeEco Le 1S, and the various Meizu MX5 ed M1 Metal.
Close updates for smartphones with Helio X10 SoC
Mediatek has just released officially the source code of the SoC Helio X10 Kernel (MT6795), and this will allow the respective manufacturers to be able to use the updated code to work better on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
The kernel source code can be found here on Github.
New life for the development of the terminals thanks to the community
As we all know, releasing the kernel code is part of the LPG (General Public License), but having the updated kernel source code is very important to the community.
This release, in fact, allows developers to remedy bugs and security (and connectivity) problems that may be encountered on a device. Android through the creation of dedicated patches. But above all it allows them to compile new ones custom ROM and to create modified kernels specific for each device.
It is possible that the release of the source code may anticipate a rapid release by the manufacturer of the upgrade Android ad Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Strong flop of Qualcomm, last year MediaTek has been able to impose itself on the smartphone market, not only in the economic range, but also in the medium-high range, thanks to processors such as the MT6753 andHelio X10 (and his successors: Helio P10 and x20).
The latter SoC has been highly appreciated by smartphone manufacturers and consumers, so much so that in 2015, they were sold more than 100 millions of devices with on board the aforementioned processor.
To conclude we recall that the MediaTek MT6795 Helio X10 it is a processor-based SoC true octa-core, with architecture ARMv8-A to 64 bit and clock rate up to 2.2 GHz, while the graphic part is entrusted to one PowerVR GPU G6200 to 700 MHz; as for the RAM, we find support to modules of the LPDDR3 type dual channel to 933 MHz.
