The project of the two companies aims to develop and promote technology 5G.

Accompanying the project is an innovative technology developed by MediaTek: the "MediaTek Interference Cancellation"which, according to the company, will solve one of the major drawbacks of the 5G. In fact, during events or occasions where there is a large turnout, the network suffers interference caused by overlapping the signals of multiple users. Kevin Jou, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of MediaTek he said about the partnership: "We are pleased to work with NTT DOCOMO to develop the best possible standard and the 5G mobile system."
"We plan to use our most advanced signal processing and circuit technologies to design solutions that meet the diverse needs of the 5G to ensure a successful launch of the service within the 2020." Kevin Jou added.
Therefore, NTT DOCOMO e MediaTek they intend to work together on the development of a new wireless interface and the production of new chipsets designed for the new terminals that will feature the new technology. The aim of the project is to implement signal efficiency and increase the supported data capacity.
