Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 - Sales package

The sales box of the Xiaomi Note 3 Redmire changes again with respect to previous products of Xiaomi, with a white cardboard box with the name of the device and a rendered image of it.

Inside, as well as the smartphone, we find the following accessories:

  • Wall power supply with 2A output;
  • micro USB-USB cable;
  • user manual in Chinese language;
  • SIM slot extractor.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 - Design and materials

Lo Xiaomi Note 3 Redmire It is the first device of the Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi to be characterized by a body completely made of metal or, more precisely, in an alloy of magnesium and aluminum.

On a construction level we are faced with a very refined and premium-looking device.

At first glance the back of the device, except for the fingerprint reader, turns out to be very similar to the Meizu MX5.

The dimensions of the device are of 150 x 76 x 8.65 mm thick for a weight, battery from 4050 mAh including non-removable, approx 164 grams.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 vs Redmi Note 3

The display of the device features an IPS unit from 5.5 inches diagonal with resolution Full HD 1920 x 1080 pixel and a pixel density of PPI 403.

Excellent color reproduction and maximum brightness, well managed by the appropriate sensor.

Glass is a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 which is on average oleophobic, retaining some fingerprints during use.

On the Redmi Note 3 we also find an RGB notification LED (with colors that can be managed in the settings) and 3 softouch keys, external to the display, characterized by a very low level of backlighting.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 - Cameras

The device is characterized by a rear camera from 13 mega-pixels with autofocus PDAF (phase detection), aperture f / 2.2, double Flash LED e 5 lenses.

The front camera, on the other hand, is characterized by a sensor 5 mega-pixels OmniVision OV5670 with opening f / 2.0.

In general, the shots made with the Redmi Note 3 are good, even if in poor light conditions a little 'photographic noise is visible, which increases when the conditions become critical. Very good macro, clear and detailed. Very fast and responsive autofocus.

Excellent LED flash, which illuminates the portrait object evenly, not burning the photo.

The front camera is also good, thanks to which it will be possible to take good selfies, even if the quality will be directly proportional to the amount of light present in the scene.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 - Connectivity

The terminal is characterized by the support dual SIM which does not allow, as possible on the other hand Xiaomi Note 2 Redmire, to expand the memory via micro SD. Both SIM cards are in Micro format and both have support for 4G LTE connectivity.

Reception is excellent and cell changes are very fast, but unfortunately Band 20 (800Mhz) is missing.

Also absent the NFC, while the Wifi is in the "ac" version. GPS with Glonass and Bluetooth 4.1 Low Energy complete the connectivity sector. There is also FM radio on the device.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 - Fingerprint reader

Xiaomi has decided to follow the market trend by introducing, for the first time, a fingerprint reader. On the back cover of the Redmi Note 3 we therefore find a biometric sensor thanks to which, with great precision, reactivity and speed, it will be possible to unlock the device by reading the fingerprint, as well as activating security features (such as, for example, the " Child Mode”).

Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 - Hardware and performance

Lo Xiaomi Note 3 Redmire It is moved by the processor octa-core Mediatek Helio X10 (MT6795) with clock a 2.0 GHz and architecture a 64-bit accompanied by 2/3 GB of RAM, depending on the variant, 16/32 GB of non-expandable internal memory and one GPU PowerVR G6200.

The performance of the device is excellent. No jamming or lag and excellent results even in the benchmark tests.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 - Antutu Benchmark

In the gaming test on Real Racing 3 the terminal behaved very well, although not reproducing "at best" the elements of the game (clouds are missing).

In general the performance is satisfactory and the gaming experience is excellent. However, there is no shortage of small microlags that could make gaming "purists" turn up their noses.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 - Software

The device is moved by the operating system Android Lollipop 5.0.2 customized with the usual proprietary interface MIUI V7, a ROM that no longer needs presentations and that also on this Redmi Note 3 runs in an excellent way.

Among the most interesting features of the ROM we find the App Security, through which to manage battery, permits, use of data, etc., one Night reading mode which favors the readability of the display by setting a "yellow filter" (adjustable and applicable only for some applications), the Lite Mode and Child Mode, the latter with the possibility of "combination" with security features related to fingerprint reading.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 - Battery

One of the most interesting aspects of this device is the provision of a well battery 4000 mAh high density.

Thanks to the aforementioned unit, the device reaches well 5 hours and a half of screen lit with heavy use with 2 SIM active and data connectivity. Using connectivity WiFi autonomy is destined to increase further.

One of the aspects to underline (and not to underestimate) when evaluating the autonomy of the Redmi Note 3 is the very low level of resource absorption of the device in stand-by.

The excellent autonomy is also confirmed by the excellent result reported on PCMark (10 hours and 38 minutes).

Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 - Conclusions

While waiting for the highly anticipated Xiaomi Mi 5, with this Redmi Note 3 the Chinese company has scored a new coup, thanks to which it will certainly manage to further increase its already excellent reputation.

On the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 we note an improvement in construction materials, the implementation of a fingerprint reader and excellent optimization from which excellent autonomy arises, an aspect certainly not to be underestimated in a "mobile" panorama characterized by devices that sin precisely from this point of view.

All this makes the Redmi Note 3 the company's new best-buy, especially considering the price, which, together with the now recognized quality of the production, continues to be one of Xiaomi's main strengths.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is available on Shinefan.it, store where you can get a discount thanks to the voucher SF0003, which will also entitle you to acustoms insurance (reimbursement in case of payment of customs duties).

The price of the Redmi Note 3 will therefore be of 157 € for the 2GB / 16GB e version 182 € for that 3GB / 32GB.
