Also this year it has arrived and perhaps it has somewhat disappointed the expectations of the millions of users who were waiting for the new Xiaomi Mi Band with a small display on board.
Today we speak of Xiaomi Mi Band 1S Pulse, the "updated" version of the Xiaomi smart bracelet, which now has a heart rate sensor.
The Xiaomi Mi Band 1S Pulse is available on Everbuying.net at approx 26 €.

Xiaomi Mi Band 1S Pulse - Sales package
In the small and compact package di sale of the Xiaomi Mi Band 1S Pulse we find:
- Xiaomi Mi Band 1S Pulse (sensor + bracelet of black color)
- instruction manuals in Chinese;
- USB cable with Xiaomi proprietary plug for charging the battery.
Xiaomi Mi Band 1S Pulse - Technical specifications
The sensor of the Xiaomi Mi Band 1S Pulse, or the plate that allows continuous monitoring of data relating to steps, sleep or heartbeat, only measures 37 x 13.6 x 9.9 mm for a weight of approx 13.5 grams, which, if combined with the bracelet to wear on the wrist, does not exceed a total of 50 grams.
The battery supplied with the Xiaomi Mi Band 1S Pulse passes, then, by 41 mAh of the last generation, To 45 mAh, a necessary increase seen the adoption of a sensor for the detection of heartbeat that, logically, also has its impact on the battery life.
In practical terms, the autonomy of the Xiaomi Mi Band 1S Pulse stands out about the 20 days of use, maximum time that is destined to go down with the device always connected to the Bluetooth of your smartphone and multiple cardiac measurements are performed throughout the day.
On the front of the sensor there are three classic LEDs (white, not RBG) which indicate different functions; the status LEDs, in fact, can indicate the achievement of the daily goal in the steps, indicate the successful connection between the Xiaomi Mi Band 1S Pulse and the smartphone, an alarm clock in progress and so on.
But the novelty of this year, as already anticipated, is the addition of a "Heart rate monitor"Which, to say the Italian, is nothing but a sensor that can detect heart pulsations. The efficiency is average and the bracelet immediately notes the changes in heartbeat, both at rest and under stress.
The downside, unfortunately, is the operation only and exclusively manual monitoring; in fact, it will not be possible to have continuous heart rate monitoring, except during a training session (after starting the running section within the Mi Fit app).
The new Xiaomi Mi Band 1S Pulse, as well as the predecessor, is also equipped with the IP67 certification, ie resistant to water (splashes of water, not diving) and dust.
Xiaomi Mi Band 1S Pulse - Monitoring of physical activity
One of the main functions for which the Xiaomi Mi Band has become famous has been the counting and calculation of steps. Once worn on the wrist, in fact, will start monitoring and, in addition to display on the application i steps made, it will also be possible to have an estimate of the burned calories and km traveled.
When you install the application on your smartphone you will be asked, first of all, to create a personal profile, in which you will specify your height, age, but above all your weight, in order to be able to establish more or less precisely the data on steps and calories burned.
Moreover, within the application it will be possible to set a daily goal in the steps, upon reaching which the Xiaomi Mi Band 1S Pulse it will vibrate and the 3 LEDs will light up in white; confirmed, therefore, as on the 2015 version of the Mi Band, the absence of RGB LEDs.
Xiaomi Mi Band 1S Pulse - Sleep Monitoring
Also here, as in the previous version, the function is available that allows us to keep track of sleep at night; there Xiaomi Mi Band 1S Pulsein fact, it can almost always monitor sleep data accurately.
In fact, on the Mi Fit App it will be possible to view the data related to sleep, divided into "light sleep", Or light sleep, and"deep sleep"Or deep sleep.
Furthermore, to improve the accuracy of the data collected during the night in sleep monitoring, Xiaomi has also included the possibility of using heartbeat monitoring when you are sleeping, so as to provide, as well as more accurate data, even an alarm clock in a "strategic" moment of sleep, perhaps when one is in the "light sleep" phase and, therefore, to make the awakening sweeter in a certain sense.
A strange bug that we have been able to detect (fortunately only once in the week of testing) is related to the sleep detection function. The Mi Band, in fact, detected the fact that we woke up (albeit temporarily and for less than two minutes), but then did not detect the return to bed (for another 5 hours abundant). A bug that, fortunately, only showed up once.
Xiaomi Mi Band 1S Pulse - Heartbeat Monitoring
The novelty introduced this year and that gives its name to the new Mi Band 1s Pulse ("Pulse" precisely because it monitors the heartbeats) is precisely that relating to the sensor for the heartbeat detection placed in the heart of the device.
L'accuracy of the measurements is quite high and through the application it is possible to view the collected values, which, however, can be obtained only and exclusively through measurements started manually.
In fact, this is the flaw of the sensor supplied with the Xiaomi Mi Band 1S Pulse, the fact of not being able to monitor the heart rate in the background, except in training sessions in which, by starting the running option at inside the app (for example with the Xiaomi Mi Shoes - here the our review), you can see the beat control in near real time on the application screen.
Xiaomi Mi Band 1S Pulse - Smartphone application
The device, therefore, communicates and interfaces with our smartphones Android o iOS via Bluetooth and above all thanks to the Mi Fit application (downloadable via this link, since on Play Store the updated version that allows you to monitor heart beats is not yet available).
Su iOSon the other hand, at the time of writing, the compatible application is not available Mi Band 1S Pulse (so, we repeat, without Heart Rate support), but it will certainly be soon with an official update.
In any case, through the application We Fit, it will be possible to associate some functions to Xiaomi Mi Band 1S Pulse, including the notification from some Apps (maximum 3), alarm via vibration at a preset time and the unlocking of the smartphone if, nearby, there is our Mi Band.
Xiaomi Mi Band 1S Pulse - Autonomy
La battery of the Xiaomi Mi Band 1S Pulse is a unit from 45 mAh that allows us, technical data in hand, to use it roughly for Orders shipped to Europe, a value that is expected to fall (even quite dramatically) when performing multiple heart measurements during use.
With an average of about 10-15 measurements per day, the battery drops from 4 to about 8%, however, considering that it is not always connected via Bluetooth to the smartphone. If we were, however, the autonomy drops to about 17-19 days, certainly positive when compared to what the competitors offer on the market.
Xiaomi Mi Band 1S - Final considerations
Once again, again this year, Xiaomi Mi Band 1S Pulse is confirmed to be the best wearable pedometer, sleep monitor and heart rate monitor and the reason is perhaps mainly contained in its decidedly low selling price compared to the competition and, consequently, in the excellent relationship with the quality of the product.
It is not equipped with a display, but considering the precision and accuracy in monitoring data this aspect could also take a back seat.
