Qualcomm announces Quick Charge 3.0: from 0 to 80% in 35 minutes!

Qualcomm Snapdragon

In addition to having announced two new processors, or the Snapdragon 617 and 430, the company also presented the third edition of the Quick Charge, or the fast charging system for smartphone batteries.

The third version of this technology brings interesting innovations, as we have halved the recharge times compared to Quick Charge 1.0, in addition to one top-up speed of 27% and a 45% higher efficiency compared to the second revision.

Qualcomm Snapdragon

The company has specified that the new technology will allow to charge the smartphone from 0 to 80% in about 35 minutes, once almost four times lower than the classic chargers.

The system will only work on devices with a next-generation processor, that is Snapdragon 820, 620, 618, 617 and 430, moreover one must also be present USB Type-C or USB Type-A port, in order to guarantee the correct functioning of the new recharge algorithm.

In particular, the system exploits a particular range of voltages ranging from 3,6 Volt to the 20 Volt with intervals of 200mV compatible with the maximum voltage supported by most devices.

We leave you with a video published by Qualcomm about this technology which, given the absent or almost absent progress in the development of batteries, will surely be able to come back to you comfortable when you find yourself with the smartphone empty at the last minute before going out. Good vision!
