With a 5300mAh battery, the Philips W6618 is the king of long-lasting smartphones!

Although very slowly, smartphone makers seem to have realized that users need more battery life. Some Chinese companies have already produced devices with very large batteries, such as the Huawei Ascend Mate or Eton Raytheon, but now other companies, like Philips, seem ready to take this path.

One of these devices, whose main feature is battery capacity, is the Philips W6618. The smartphone was launched in China at the price of 1699 Yuan (197 euro) with a huge 5300mAh battery, even exceeding the 5000mAh battery of the Eton Raytheon!

The Philips W6618 battery is non-removable. The company said that the smartphone offers standby time of 66 days (more than two months!) And 33 hours on call (it has not been specified if it is a call under the 2G or 3G network).

Other specifications of the smartphone include a quad-core MediaTek 1.3GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal memory expandable via Micro SD and a display from 5 inches with qHD resolution. The MediaTek quad-core processor is the MT6582 model, which is certainly not known to keep consumption down. We can only imagine how long the battery of this smartphone would last, if the company had chosen a processor more suitable for energy saving!
