Marvell is not a semi-conductor company of which, honestly, we talk very often. But today Marvell deserves our attention thanks to its new quad-core 64-bit chip.
Unveiled by Marvell during the 2014 edition of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, theArmanda PXA1928 it's a quad-core 64-bit processor with ARM Cortex A53 architecture. Operating at a native frequency of 1,5 GHz, the four A53 cores are accompanied by one GPu VivanteGC5000 that supports encoding e decodes video to 1080p.
Just like the solutions recently presented by Mediatek, this new Marvell chip is a processor a all field. Well covered in terms of frequencies, the PXA1928 boasts several connectivity including: cellular (LTE TDD / FDD, LTE Cat 4, TD-HSPA +, HSPA +, EDGE), radio (Bluetooth, WiFi a / c, FM radio) and also NFC.
On the market we can expect devices powered by Armanda PXA1928 processor as early as next month, many of them will needless to say released by Chinese companies, Lenovo, CoolPad, Hisense etc.
