After having practically conquered the entry-level and mid-range segment, the Taiwanese Mediatek is trying to strengthen its "presence" in the high-end smartphone segment.
Not long ago Mediatek there showed the MT6592 chipset, advertised as the world's first "true octa-core mobile processor". We then reported you a chipset 8-core LTE Mediatek coming soon, which is what the chipset builder is going to present at CES next week. But that's not all, the MT8135 chipset, built on a big.LITTLE architecture with 2x core Cortex A7 and 2x Cortex A15 cores, coupled to a PowerVR Series 6 GPU will also be present at the event.

Mediatek should also present another chipset, one that the company says will be "the smallest chipset in the world". In fact, Mediatek plans to use this chipset within the scope of the wearable technology and on other devices such as Smart TV and mini-PC.
