Mediatek and 4G LTE, plans include both quad-core and 8-core

After announcing another record quarter, Mediatek presented its plans for next year.

Within a few weeks, Mediatek will officially present its first 8-core processor, the MT6592; we know that the Taiwanese company is working on a new quad-core chipset with LTE support, but we did not know that Mediatek would open the field to other projects as well.

According to Mediatek, the first 4G LTE chipsets will come on the market starting from June 2014 ... but apparently they will not be alone!
In fact, it seems that even octa-cores will receive the 4G LTE support update.

Precise specifications have not been disclosed, but we can assume that these new chipsets will be based on the latest Mali GPU models and will have clock frequency at 2Ghz. For sure there is only the news that will be compatible with: TD-LTE, FDD-LTE, TD-SCDMA, WCDMA and GSM / EDGE.
