Xiaomi Hongmi vers. China Unicom (compatible with European 3G) officially receives the network license!

After the many rumors and fotospia followed in the last period, we now have proof that at least one Xiaomi Hongmi version will support WCDMA networks.

Xiaomi launched Hongmi, a low-cost device with a quad-core mediatek chip, a few months ago; thanks to a truly performing hardware compartment that includes MT6589T quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 4.7 inch display, Samsung camera, dual-SIM and MIUI V5 rom, has achieved incredible sales levels, even though until now only users China Mobile have had the opportunity to buy it.

Finally, however, Xiaomi has requested and obtained the network license for the WCDMA version from 130 $ (about 96 €) that will support the China Unicom network but will be compatible with most of the European 3G networks.

Xiaomi has not yet officially announced the release date of this smartphone but apparently it will be on sale soon.
