Oppo N1 specifications

The official Oppo event for the presentation of the new N1 has just ended and we present the complete specifications of this incredible device.

Oppo broadcast the presentation of the Oppo N1 via streaming on Youku, giving us the opportunity to stay updated on what was happening in Beijing. The presentation of the device mostly focused on the accurate description of the Color ROM and the rotating camera (yes, rotating ...) and much poco on the hardware compartment.

In case you missed them, here are the complete Oppo N1 specifications!

Oppo N1 - Complete specifications

In addition to the rotating camera, nothing particularly impressed us with the N1 set. The display is an 5.9 inch Full-HD 1920 × 1080, 2 GB of RAM, 16 or 32Gb of internal memory and a processing engine which is a Snapdragon 600 from 1,7 Ghz!

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 is probably not the processor that many of you expected, it is not as full-bodied as the Samsung Exynos octa-core mounted on the Meizu MX3 or the Snapdragon 800 of the MI3, but it is still very powerful.

The other features are: a 3160 mAh battery, USB OTG, O-click for remote shooting, GPS, WiFi Direct, WIFI Display, Bluetooth 4.0, 5Ghz WiFi, and rear touch panel.

For those living outside of China, the frequencies on which Oppo N1 works are:
- GSM: 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900mhz;
– WCDMA: 850/900/1700/1900/2100mhz.

As for the Oppo N1 dimensions, it measures 170.7 x 82.6 x 9 mm and weighs 213 g, while the Xiaomi MI3 measures 144 x 72 x 8,1 mm and the Meizu MX3 is the thinnest with 139 x 71,9 x 9,1 mm.

The Oppo N1 will be available in 2 versions. The standard version will run the Color ROM, but you can also flash the CyanogenMod ROM if you run it, and the CyanogenMod Edition version will arrive with the pre-installed CyanogenMod ROM.

Oppo N1 - Camera

The real surprise of Oppo N1 is the camera. It has a single sensor from 13 mega-pixel but that can be rotated, from the back to the front.
The rotating chamber can be positioned as you wish (max rotation of 206 °). It also has double LED flash and F2.0 opening.

There are also some integrated scene modes including: Normal, Panorama, High Speed, Rewind, Beauty and Slow Shutter.

Oppo N1 - Price

The Oppo N1 will be on sale in China at the price of 570 $ (about 421 €). The box will include remote O-click control, earphones, charger and, of course, the smartphone. The phone will be on sale from early December.

Oppo N1 - Press Release

OPPO N1 - Return to Innovation
23 September 2013

OPPO N1 redefines smartphone photo technology with a 5.9-inch display, rotating camera, and rear touch panel.

BEIJING - September 23, 2013 - OPPO today announced the launch of the OPPO N1, the first smartphone in their new N-Lens series. The OPPO N1 was revealed to a crowd of over 600 international media outlets, enthusiasts and developers in a stunning presentation at the AOYA Exhibition Center in Beijing. In the innovative OPPO N1, the large display, the rotating camera, the rear touch panel and an incredible design come together to create a totally new experience with a smartphone.

The first rotating camera in the world

The Oppo N1 will guarantee new possibilities in the world of smartphone photography as it is the first smartphone in the world with a rotating camera. Its revolutionary camera rotates up to a maximum of 206 degrees and allowing quality shots from every angle.

To help capture stunning and lifelike images the Oppo N1 comes with Pure Image, a hardware and software photographic solution. Pure Image features six physical lenses, an updated 1 / 3.06 imaging mode and a large F2.0 aperture. Additionally, Oppo has partnered with leading optical companies to improve processing solutions for white balance, exposure and focus.

Oppo N1 has a special light diffusion LED which consists of a normal flash for rear shots and a less powerful and soft one for front shots, with brightness adjustable by the camera software. Your front shots will not only be comparable in quality to the rear ones, they will also be perfectly illuminated. Easily usable, the Oppo N1's camera will boot from a stand-by screen in just 0,6 seconds with a simple 120 ° rotation. The Oppo N1 camera also supports extended exposure up to a maximum of 8 seconds.

Charming technology

The Oppo N1 is wrapped in two finely crafted that run up the sides of the device and protect the 5.9-inch display. More than a year of work and 20 projects have finally led to the simple genius of the Oppo N1 and the small but complex camera, tested to last more than 100 rotations. The manufacturing process of the aluminum alloy frame takes more than 20 days, during which it undergoes a 14-step polishing process involving more than a dozen suppliers. To reinforce the soul of the smartphone, the chassis adds an air of solidity and style to the Oppo N1. The body of the Oppo N1 is made with a smooth ceramic-like material to keep your device fingerprint-free and smooth to the touch.

O-touch panel

O-touch is a completely new way to use your smartphone. A 12 square cm rear touch panel makes using the N1's large display with one hand easy and comfortable. With O-touch you can scroll, select or take photos - all without your fingers blocking the display.

O-click control

O-click allows you to use the Oppo N1's camera remotely, when you are away from your device. Just place the N1 and take a step back. In case of loss, it will be possible to trace it by setting an alarm on the phone. The O-click adapts to your keychain and supports a range of up to 50 meters, remaining connected to the OPPO N1 via Bluetooth (BLE).

Innovation in the choice

OPPO is committed to serving the smartphone market with an open horizon. Oppo N1 comes with Color (based on Android 4.2), a unique Android operating system with over 400 unique features and improvements over the stock Android standard. CyanogenMod is the most popular alternative Android system in the world. The international versions of Oppo N1 will arrive with the Color ROM and the possibility of flashing CyanogenMod directly from the stock recovery. A limited version of Oppo N1, Cyanogen Edition, will be available with the world's first CyanogenMod hardware.

Available in 16 and 32GB versions of internal memory, the Oppo N1 is ready to arrive on the market at the beginning of December.
