Yesterday, Samsung announced that it added Heterogeneous Multi-Processing technology to the Exynos 5 Octa for effective support for the octa-core chip and today Meizu has announced that its Meizu MX3 will also benefit from the update.
The Samsung Exynos 5 Octa may be the first octa-core processor to be seen on smartphones and tablets, but as it is designed it does not support simultaneous operation of all 8 cores. Yesterday, however, the Korean giant announced the Heterogeneous Multi-Processing (HMP) system, which will allow the Exynos 5 Octa to run all processors at once!
Although Samsung has not been able to clarify whether it is a software or hardware update, today's announcement by Meizu suggests that it will come in the form of a kernel / driver change on all Meizu MX3 devices.
Recent benchmarks have shown high capacity, with Antutu scores higher than 29000 points and it is likely that with this update could break through the wall of 30000 ... this HMP update will sacrifice perhaps the performance of battery life?
