Alcatel, an international subsidiary of the Chinese TCL, has recently updated its web-site with 3 new smartphones: Idol X, One Touch Idol S and Idol Mini.
The TCL Idol X, with quad-core processor Mediatek M6589T and 2 GB of RAM, has already been on sale in the Chinese market for some months and finally the updates have also been directed to Alcatel branded smartphones.
At this point we see in detail the specifications of the new 3 born in the Alcatel house.
Alcatel Idol X
The Alcatel Idol X is presented as a very thin device from 6.9 mm thick, with a display with Full-HD 1920 × 1080 resolution and also the possibility to choose between two versions; a single-sim model with 8 GB of internal memory and another, from 16 GB, dual-sim.
However, both will be equipped with a rear camera from 13.1 mega-pixels and the possibility of expanding the internal memory up to 32 GB, via SD card.
Alcatel One Touch Idol S
The Idol S is a mid-range smartphone equipped with a Mediatek M6589 quad-core processor, a 4,7-inch HD 1280 × 720 display, 1 GB of RAM plus 4 GB of internal memory and a rear camera from 8 mega -pixel.
The terminal will arrive on the market already with the Android JB 4.2 operating system and a series of pre-installed Android games.
Alcatel Idol Mini
The Idol Mini is the biggest surprise. Although the Mini could simply have been a slim version of the Idol X, Alcatel decided to create this "baby" version, which also includes lower level specifications.
A 4.3 inch display with FWVGA 854 x 480 resolution in our opinion seems too outdated, as the processor, a dual-core from 1,3 Ghz, the rear camera from 5 mega-pixel and the 512 MB of RAM.
Alcatel has not yet announced the prices of these devices, although they should not be high anyway.
