We all know that a large number of Chinese smartphones with "big" displays have been launched on the market, with really interesting features.
And smartphones with smaller 5 inch displays?
Below you will find our "top 10" of Android Chinese Smartphones that measure less than 5 inches.
The current trend in the design of Chinese smartphone makers is to offer their high-end products, flagship smartphones, with displays from 5 thumbs up. But what happens, instead, for the "smaller" phones? What are the options for choosing?
The following list will show the characteristics of the phones that are already available on the market or soon. In addition, in compiling the list, we included not only devices powered by Mediatek processors, but also some models that mount Qualcomm processors.
Top 10 Android Chinese Smartphones that measure less than 5 inches
JiaYu G4 Advaced
The release of this model had already been announced at the end of last year and, considering how things went, we began to think that it would not be launched anymore! Fortunately, it was not like that.
Features of the JiaYu G4 Advanced
The G4 Advanced compared to how it was originally conceived and features "promises" during the announcement phase has undergone strong improvements in the hardware: the processor is a MT6589T to 1.5Ghz, mounts 2 GB of RAM, supports the OTG and has a rear camera from 13 mega-pixel.
Currently only the 3000 mAh version is on sale, but the "slim" model with 1850 mAh bateria will be launched later this month.
The Xiaomi Mi2S is one of the smallest smartphones on this list, with a screen of only 4.3 inches, but it could also be one of the most powerful devices, which gets constant updates (weekly) via OTA and is offered at a very affordable price.
If the rumors are confirmed the Mi2S could suffer a price drop this month reaching the 1.699 yuan (about 210 euro) to make room for the flagship product of the house, the Xiaomi Mi3, which will be launched in August.
Features of the Xiaomi Mi2S
Behind the HD display (720p) from 4.3 inches we find a quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor from 1.7Ghz and 2GB of RAM. The removable battery from 2000mAh can be replaced optionally by one from 3100mAh in case of need. Unlike other devices, the Mi2S does not have an SD card slot and only supports a single SIM card. There are two versions currently on the market of the smartphone: 16GB with 8 mega-pixel camera and 32GB with 13 mega-pixel.
The Xiaomi Mi2A is the bigger but cheaper "brother" of the Mi2S. Xiaomi's decision to launch a larger business phone initially seemed odd, but perhaps with the launch of the Mi3 from 5 inches it will make more sense in the long run.
Features of the Xiaomi Mi2A
The display of the Xiaomi Mi2A is from 4.5 Inches, which is a cross between the 4.7 of the JiaYu G4 and the 4.3 of the Mi2S. A dual-core Snapdragon processor from 1.7Ghz, 1GB of RAM and an Adreno 320 GPU make the Mi2A a powerful smartphone, with a camera with XMUMX mega-pixels that offers a photographic performance similar to that of the more expensive devices.
Among other interesting features of the Mi2A we remember the update of the 5Ghz Wifi (very fast and useful for video streaming through the Xiaomi TV box) and NFC support.
FAEA F1 Penguin
From some points of view at the Meizu MX2, the FAEA F1 Penguin shows surprisingly good manufacturing, good technical specifications and great performance, especially if all this is related to the price! FAEA wants to be a great rival of ZOPO and has already offered F1 to international users by proposing to GizChina readers a discount of 20 dollars through this code: FFD20.
Features of the FAEA F1 Penguin
The F1 in addition to having a display of the same size (4.5 inches) and resolution (1280 × 720) of the Xiaomi Mi2A, shows other similarities with the other device. Even the F1 Penguin, in fact, mounts 1GB of RAM, an 8 mega-pixel camera and a Qualcomm processor (in this case a quad-core S4). Plus, F1 also supports NFC!
FAEAmobile.com offers the F1 to 169.99 dollars (about 130 euro), but with the discount dedicated to GizChina readers the price is only 149.99 dollars (about 115 euro).
The original JiaYu G3 version allowed JiaYu to position itself within the Chinese mobile phone market. This updated version retains many of the features of the original device, with the addition of the benefits of a quad-core MT6589 processor.
Features of the JiaYu G3S
The JiaYu G3S has a 4.5-inch HD (1280 × 720) display and is equipped with a 6589Ghz MT1.2 quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM. In the standard equipment we find, in addition to a rear camera from 8 mega-pixels and the housing for two SIMs and the Micro SD, a 3000mAh battery.
Nubia Z5 Mini
Although the name "Mini" suggests a phone much smaller than the size of the Nubia Z5 (5 inches), the Nubia Mini is only slightly smaller, being equipped with a screen from 4,7 inches. Luckily, the ZTE has also decided to equip the Nubia Mini with impressive hardware. From the leaked benchmarks, in fact, we have seen that the Nubia Z5 mini could be a real "killer" for the Xiaomi.
The device has a quad-core processor from 1.5Ghz (probably a Snapdragon 600) with 2GB of RAM, running Android 4.2.2. The leaked Antutu scores show benchmarks above the 22.000 points!
The launch of the Z5 Mini (which should support LTE) is expected by the end of this month.
The Xiaocai X9 is one of the few devices equipped with the Mediatek flagship processor, which even if it will only measure 4.5 inches will have 2GB of RAM and more!
Characteristics of the Xiaocai X9
The X9 will be launched in China in the coming weeks and fans of low-cost smartphones with high-level specifications are already excited! A MT6589 processor from 1.5Ghz and more than 2GB of RAM are new specifications on a phone of this size, to which if you add the 32GB of ROM, a front camera from 5 mega-pixel and back from 8, make it a real "Theft" for just 999 yuan (about 123 euros)!
If you look for an even smaller screen phone, why not bet on the world's thinnest phone?
The Umeox X5 is what you are looking for and will be on sale in China and Europe very soon!
Features of the Umeox X5
Maintaining a thickness of only 5.6mm means having to make some rather controversial production choices. For example, the display is an advanced OLED panel that kind of has its own light, the processor is a dual-core from 1Ghz and there is neither the LED flash for the camera nor the 3.5mm jack for the earphones.
Huawei Ascend P6
The Huawei Ascend P6 has been the thinnest phone in the world for a week, but even though this sleek device is not anymore, it's probably still the most practical slim smartphone on the market.
Features of the Huawei Ascend P6
The Ascend P6 is already on sale in many markets around the world and people are very happy with the great design and hardware power that this device offers.
A 4,7-inch HD (1280 × 720) display covers a quad-core 1.5Ghz Huawei processor and 2GB of RAM. The front camera is from 5 mega-pixels and the rear one from 8.
The Nuu Nu1, with its 4,8 inches of display, is the largest phone on this list. This dark device has some excellent features, including a powerful processor, NFC support, SD card slot, all at a price that Xiaomi fans can not ignore.
Nuu Nu1 features
The large HD display (1280 × 720) is manufactured by Casio in Japan which means that the Nu1 should offer breathtaking graphics performance in gaming and web browsing. The 1.7Ghz dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM should offer enough power for most modern games.
The Nu1 is only available for sale in China currently, but the price tag of $ 211 (around 162 Euros) might entice you to search for one online.
